Beirut, Lebanon

What a nice surprise to get a phone call from work at 4 am to say: Good morning Vincent, you are going to Beirut at 7! Pick up at 5!!! Anyway, the flight was not full and it was great to see the Mediterranean!!!

Had a nightmarish flight to New York a few days ago! Now flights are chock-a-block, not one single seat left and we run like headless chicken from Briefing in Dubai to Immigration in JFK!!! Insane. Guess will not be so eager to go to NY for work. Would rather wait and fly there as a passenger.

Even with a tiring flight I had a nice day with Karine. We got pissed drunk at a Chilean restaurant with plenty of Carmenère wine and the following day we visited the Cloisters, up in Hudson Park, at the very tip of Manhattan. Amazing views and so so so green!!! Interesting.

Karine is now off to Huston and will be in India for her wedding (of course) in November. So I already have an appointment in Delhi for the end of the year! Cool stuff! Just have to prepare myself psychologically to go once more to Hell (in this case, the Indian Consulate in Dubai) to apply for a visa once again. That's what friends are for...

Am slowly regaining faith in the job. The purser today was nice, the crew as well and I had a good time flying. Not like the past Shanghai and New York, which made me depressed and almost to lock myself in the lavatory to cry. Drama queen as usual!

Well, tomorrow I am still on stand by, hoping to get a swop approved and run away to Barcelona for a few days. It is so hot in Dubai that the cars have melted in the car park! :)
